10,000 lbs donated by Haile Jewelry and Loan!
Where do you start when your heart is exploding with appreciation and overwhelming thanks for all the hard work that goes into securing 10,000 pounds of food used to feed 41 hungry kids in our local community every weekend for an entire year?!! This 4th annual food drive hosted by Haile Jewelry and Loans officially goes down in history for us as the LARGEST SINGLE FOOD DRIVE DONATION we’ve ever received! These results could not have been possible without the generous community and the people behind the success. Monetary donations were made towards buying food, cans were hand delivered, businesses hosted food drive competitions, and boxes were strategically placed for general collections amongst staff & customers throughout Gainesville. HOME: Living in the Heart of Florida Magazine was an early supporter again this year with their ad donation and along with The Village Journal at Haile Plantation both sent photographers to help cover the event, KISS 105.3 donated air time to generate support and awareness for the cause and event, Spa Royale generously matched Friday donations to double the impact received on those days leading up to the BIG DAY & donated their trailer to haul food to the warehouse, Wilson’s Custom Flooring brought their truck to haul food, Shands Patient Financial Services rocked their collection efforts, Margot’s Impeccable Pickles took their proceeds from pickle sales and purchased food to donate towards the event, DeConna Ice Cream shared free ice cream & I Love NY Pizza (Gainesville Fl) gave away a free slice of pizza for donors on day of, gift certificates were graciously donated by Salon 119 Haile Market Square, gift baskets were donated by Haile Kitchen and Bath, LLC, Haile Plantation Publix allowed us to be present on that Saturday sharing the food drive & program with shoppers, Anthem Church recruited individuals to help with all the physical labor of love on the final day, our F4K volunteers worked in the warehouse to put away 10,000 pounds of food, and the list goes on and on! None of this would have been made possible without the generous hearts and efforts of Sheena & Clint Asbell! Genuinely two of the most passionate and generous people supporting our community. When you see them, please say thanks for their support!
Thank you all for your donations, kind words, sharing of posts, and hard work on the final day to help load, unload, weigh and sort 10,000 pounds of food. Lots of smiles & sweaty hugs were shared from generous supporters to make a difference in the life of a hungry child! THANK YOU!
